In our time and for most of history there have been those who denied
the existence of God. Perhaps it has been that way since Adam and
Eve were expelled from Eden. However, God has not moved so far away
from us as to make His existence impossible to know. While God is
not literally visible to us in Person, He has gin us evidences of His Being,
His power, His wisdom and His love for us.
For a long time these evidences were so well known and discussed that believers developed kin of a "lazy" faith. Almost everyone came to believe in God and we took it for granted that people know why they had good and forceful reasons for so believing. We seem to have raised up two or three generations of children who have not been taught in the home or the church why we should believe that God exists. Consequently, when they are challenged to give a reason or reasons for their faith in God by their peers, their teachers in secular education , or by society in general , they have no defenses as to shy they believe in God or do not believe in the philosophies of the world.
Brethren and friends, we live in a different world now than it was two or three generations ago. Although the Lord's church is small, we have not kept up with our responsibilities to promote and "contend earnestly the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints" (Jude 3). We have not been "always ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear" (1Peter 3:15) We are not having an impact upon the world for the truth of the gospel, because we are not even having an impact upon our children in our homes and the members in our own congregations.
THAT GOOD EXISTS IS THE MOST BASIC OF ALL TRUTHS! Do we know why we believe in God , or why we should? Through these bulletin articles in the coming weeks I'm going to try to help our readers know and understand the proofs for God's existence. I'll provide you with Scripture and other resources to help fortify your faith
