"Professing Themselves to be Wise..."

    by Paul D. Fisher   Feb 29, 2004
Having listened to the news for the past several days about gay and lesbian marriages taking place in San Francisco, California, I was struck by the similarities in the officials'  reasoning and those of people wanting to change God's word. In their wisdom they have found new meaning in old laws.

The mayor of California declared that under their state constitution he had to issue marriage licenses to these people wanting to marry a person of the same sex!  Now, does it seem funny to anyone else that after all these years since the state constitution of California was written no one else understood it that way?

Judges in other states have also suddenly come up with new insight and understanding to old laws, so that those who want to break laws can legally. They have become the so called, new enlightened class of people who look down their noses at anyone who opposes their views. They are the new intellectuals who seek to bring light to the poor uneducated people in darkness who dare call homosexual behavior sin.

This of Course is nothing new for in Romans 1:22, we read,  "Professing themselves to be wise, they becams fools."  They gave up obedience to God, so God gave them up to their vain imaginings!
