Now Listen God!
 by Paul D. Fisher

"Nay but, 0 man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?" (Romans 9:20).

Many people today want to reply to God, they want to say, "Now listen God!" Some talk big; others just by their actions show their contempt for God. Often this is done out of ignorance, not realizing who it is they are talking about. This type of talk is often heard because people think of God as just another human being. Some want to question God as to why something happened to them or their families. A few would like to give God a piece of their mind.

A lot of these same people talk out loudest about how bad our government is getting and yet they do not vote nor write their congressmen. These same people find fault with the church, without ever joining in the worship service themselves. They expect God to do everything for them without them lifting a finger and crying the loudest when it does not get done.

Often in the area of obedience to the Christian life, they would like to question GOD the most. Surely, they reason God did not really mean what he said, I have a better idea! I have a way to improve on what God wants. God just did not realize what He was asking when He said, "Do this or don't do that." Thus, they have a great desire to reply to God.

Job wanted to reply to God also and he got his chance, although it did not turn out quite like Job imagined. If you ever get the feeling that you would like to reply to God, turn over to the thirty-eighth chapter of the book of Job and answer the questions GOD asked Job. For four chapters God ask Job questions and Job could not answer any of them. Job and the apostle Paul both realized what so many today either do not know or choose to ignore and that is God made man and not the other way around.

You still want to reply to God? Well, be prepared for the Bible says you will get the chance on the day of judgment. Matthew 7:21-23 makes it very plain what the outcome of questioning God's will! Are you ready to stand before your Creator and give Him a piece of your mind?
