Do You Have God's Certificate of Authenticity?

by Paul D. Fisher

As I was reloading programs on the computer I was impressed by the number of programs that had certificates of authenticity with them. In fact, some of the programs would not load or run without putting in the certificate of authenticity numbers. This certificate indicated ownership of the Program and the certificate numbers kept the program secure.

All of this reminded me of the fact that as Christians we belong to God. Since we belong to God we have His seal or certificate of authenticity as the apostle Paul wrote in Second Timothy 2:19, "Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knowsth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity." As a Christian we must change our manner of life, iniquity (lawlessness, unrighteousness) is something that we must put from ourselves. We are to seek after God's righteousness and put His kingdom first in our lives. We are to love as God loves, putting the good of others before ourselves. We are to be obedient to all of God's word. When we do these things, then we have the seal of God, His certificate of authenticity, which will allow us to enter into heaven! Does your life show God's certificate of authenticity? Remember just like the computer programs that would not run without the certificate of authenticity numbers, you cannot enter heaven without God's certificate of authenticity.
