About "Big Sarge"
Rosendo
"Big Sarge" Grenald began working with the Latin
America Medical Mission work in March of 1990 on the
Prison
Island of Coibe after the US invasion that removed General
Noriga. A congregation of the Lord's people was
established
with the baptism of 57 souls. Sadly,we have never
been able
to return to this island.
Rosendo married a lady named Margarita and converted her
and her family
consisting of 9 people. Rosendo has also converted
11 members of his own
family. He has six children who are also Christians.
He retired from
the military 20 days before the invasion. The coast
guard ship which he
commanded was the first ship sunk during the invasion.
He was 62 years
old on April 19th of this year.
In the city of Colon where he preaches, he has established
a congregation
which now has 37 members plus several children.
He is working with this
congregation to nurture and mature them, while training
a preacher to
take his place when they reach 60 members. As he
has in the past so he
plans to move to a new area and begin again preaching
and teaching the
soul saving, life changing Gospel of Jesus Christ.
"Big Sarge" is preaching at a 4-day gospel meeting at
the Marshfield Church
of Christ Sept 24-28 in Marshfield, Mo. and will
then be going to other area
churches and to Arkansas during this visit to the United
States.
