Many times we overhear someone at work or school ask questions about
the Bible or make statements about it. Since as Christians we are commanded
to study God's word (2 Timothy 2:15) and sanctify His Word in our hearts
so that we can answer anyone who asks us questions about the hope that
we have (1 Peter 3:15), we need to be prepared. One reason we need to be
prepared is because this opportunity may never present itself to us again.
The person or persons asking the questions or making the statements may
never ask again or be inclined to discuss the Bible again. Here is a basic
question that you may be asked or hear statements about. How
would you answer?
1. What conditions must be met by the alien sinner in order to receive
remission of sins (become saved)?
a. Faith only!
b. Faith and repentance! Then, one is baptized as
an outward sign of an inward faith,
having already been saved.
c. Faith based upon God's word, repentance, confession
and being baptized for the remission of sins.
d. No conditions must be met for the alien sinner.
God's grace covers his sins.
e. Just believe in Jesus and ask Him to come into
your heart and say the sinner's prayers, then you
are saved and you need to start
going to some church where you fit in and feel good.
