Please help the Sanders Family. Over a year ago brother Johnnie Sanders 55 years old was diagnosed with colon cancer and took an agressive round of chemotherapy to rid himself of the disease. He was cancer free for about a year, butr the doctors have recently told hiom that the cancer has returned and it is in some of his lymph nodes in his back and in his lungs. Withut anohter round of chemotheraopy Johnnies life span will be severely limited.  With treatment he could have years added and cure, but there are no guarantees for a complete cure.

Johnnie and his wife Jan are outstanding members of the church here Marshfield, Missouri.  Both are heavily involved in the work of the church, and either would do anything for others that they could. Of course you know the Sanders also have a 16 year old daughter, Makenzie, who is a senior in Marshfield High School.

Brother Sanders retired from his work as a school teacher, he obtained a Health Insurance Plan that he thought would be adequate for their needs.  However, when his colon cancer was first diagnosed he discovered that his insurance plan paid next to nothing for this kind of cancer treatment.  The drug company that makes the chemo needed to treat his cancer generously donated the drugs needed for his initial treatment, and St. John's Hoispital in Springfield , Mo gave him a discount on the cost to administer the drugs. However,  there were additional costs of other drugs associated with this treatment. Such as: 60 percent of the cost of transfusions for the chemo, plus additional charges installing the port to transfuse the chemo, CAT scan, doctor's appointment, costs for home nurse chemo monitering, and other items that generated several thousand dollars in charges each month for which the Sanders to pay.  Johnny is still paying for the cost of the first round of treatment and he has told the church of Marshfield that his personal resources are depleted.

Now Johnnie has a second round of cost to give himself a chance to extend his lifespan.  The drug compnay is again donating the chemo drugs, but all of the thousands of dollars of the associated cost will be accruing to his already past due account from the first round of treatment.  Brother Sander's financial responsibilities for this second round of treatment cost is expected to amount to about 30.000-40.000.

Here is how you can help. Ted is making out a mailing list of churches and individuals to whom we can send letters asking for help for brother Sanders. If you know a congregation where you have family, friends, or where you have had formally held membership, please give Ted the name and addresses as soon as possible so we can send them an appeal for help.  The Marshfield church will be making a sacrificial effort to help Johnnie and Jan all we can, but we cannot carry the entire effort.  Please make a special effort of your own to give Ted these names and addresses quickly.   Thank you and remember to pray with persistence for the success of Johnnie's treatment and strength for Jan and (Mack).
