Golf and Church

One man came out of his house on his way to worship one Sunday morning, just as his neighbor came out and said “Henry, come play golf with me today.” Henry with an expression of self-righteous horror, replied, “This is the Lord’s Day, and I go to worship. Certainly I would not play golf with you.” After a moment’s embarrassed silence the golfer quietly replied, “You know, Henry I have often wondered about your church, and I have admired your fidelity. You know, however, that this is the seventh time I have invited you to play golf with me and you have never invited me to go to church with you.”

When is the last time you invited your neighbor? 

“Go Ye means Go Me! Invite someone to worship with you. It will sure make a difference in their life. (And yours)

• Sweatheart Banquet  A sign-up sheet is on the board for this years banquet that will take place on February 4th at 6:00 p.m. make sure you sign up so we can have an accurate count for planning. The cost is $5.00 per person. Look forward to seeing you there!

• 2012 Budget presentation will be February 5th, following our monthly fellowship. A presentation of the plans for the ministries will be given, and then the budget will be presented. Afterwards we will have a short devotional. This will take the place of the evening worship service. Please make plans to attend.

• Pew Packers; Young people from Toddler on up are invited to join us at 5:30 every Sunday evening for a period of singing and learning. Parents, please make an effort to bring your young people!

• Widow/Widowers Luncheon The annual Widow/Widowers luncheon is scheduled for Friday April 27th.  Please make plans to attend.

Congratulations to Kelly and Dustin Fluit on the birth of their daughter Sarah Lynn. She weighed 6lbs and 5 oz/21 inches long. She is joined by her siblings Hayden and Emma.

Scott Greer had rotator cuff surgery this past Thursday at Cox Walnut Lawn. 

Jerry Blackwell, Cathy Thompson’s mom had a stroke and is in the hospital. She is not doing very well.

Tom Crain, a friend of Susan Ziebarth is doing better and she says they will be able to treat him with medication

Larry Doty is not doing well.

Marilyn Mingus ( Friend of the Hyder’s) health problems

Wimp Letterman  is at WEBCO recovering from heart surgery.

Paul Sandoz is improving. He has use of his right leg but still needs a walker

Helen West (Ruth McMasters’s Sister) dealing with health problems
