At 9:30 a.m. on Friday the second group of missionaries
from this congregation left for the airport in Springfield bound for Lima,
Peru. This group should arrive in Lima around 12:01 a.m. Terry, Verba,
Phyllis, Paul, Lacey and Nacho(from Lebanon), make up this second group
and we will meet up with Bob, Kay, Terry and Ruth in Lima on Saturday morning.
Early Saturday morning we will load on buses going to Ica which is several
hours south of Lima on the Pan American Highway. Ica is a city of about
160,000 people and is located in one of the driest places in the western
hemisphere. Counting translators, and the few local members, we will be
part of a team of about 117 people. While the medical team is working at
the campaign site, I will be part of the group that will be going from
house to house trying to study with anyone who is interested in having
a Bible study. If all goes like last year, we will not have to travel very
far from the campaign site during our time there to find people interested
in having Bible studies.
As of the writing of this bulletin it had already been reported that 38 new souls have been added to the Lord's church this week in Zancudo Alto and 3 have been restored. I am sure that this number will have to be updated when we get back. If you have access to a computer you can go to http://groups.msn.com/PanamaJacksplaee and see pictures that Jack has taken of the medical campaign. Jack Farber tries to update every few days with new pictures of what is going on, especially the baptisms.
It is my prayer that each one of you will enjoy good health while I am gone and please keep me and the whole team in your prayers. We will see you next Sunday, Lord willing! If for some reason you do need to talk to me or some other team member, you can reach us through Jack's cell phone, the number is 011-511-9-857-6419.
In Christian love, Paul
